Alpha Estate 'Ecosystem' Xinomavro (specifically the iconic single-block Barba Yannis old vines reserve) is a world-class, full-bodied Greek red wine defined by ripe plum jam, sun-dried tomato, and sweet French oak spices.

Wine Profile and Origin
Region: Amyndeon plateau, Western Macedonia, Greece.
Grape Variety: 100% Xinomavro from ungrafted bush-trained vines planted in 1919 (over a century old).
Alcohol: 13.8% to 14.5% vol.
Tasting Notes: Rich aromas of ripe plum, blackberry, black cherry, dried olive leaves, and earthy pepper, rounded out by high acidity and firm, supporting tannins.
    Winemaking and Aging
    Fermentation: Cold maceration and native yeast fermentation.
    Barrel Aging: 24 months in new French oak casks (Allier and Jupilles) with regular lees stirring (bâtonnage).
    Bottle Aging: An additional 12 months in the bottle prior to commercial release.
