Light onion-red in appearance, this rosé bursts with vitalizing fresh strawberries and raspberries on the nose. The palate delivers animated acidity supporting juicy red berry flavors, complemented by subtle white pepper spice typical of Carnuntum Zweigelt.
This refreshing rosé harmonizes beautifully with Italian vitello tonnato, where its berry brightness cuts through the creamy tuna sauce while complementing the delicate veal.
Christina Netzl produces this organic rosé from 100% Zweigelt grapes grown on red gravel and loess soils at the Holzweg vineyard in Austria's Carnuntum region. The Pannonian climate provides warm days with cooling Danube River winds, creating ideal conditions for Zweigelt to develop ripe cherry aromatics while maintaining fresh acidity. Hand-harvested grapes undergo direct pressing with minimal skin contact of just a few hours before temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks lasting two weeks. After racking, the wine rests on lees for six additional weeks before bottling unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulfur, showcasing Christina's commitment to organic viticulture since 2013.
